In September it is time for the grape harvest for the wine making. Around Geneva there are loads of wine yards and we went to a small one in Mont-sur-Rolle. Spent the whole morning starting early, picking all the grapes by hand with the extended family.
Halfways through the morning we had a break of cheese and chocolate, and started the French bonding. After we picked all grapes we got a ride on the tractor back up to the house where we directly started making grape juice of the grapes. Oh it tastes soo sweet and nice!!! And looking forward to tasting the wine around June when it should be ready and drinkable.
After that it was big bbq and loads of wine (their own of course!) on the terrace where the older family generation also joined. Loved it!!!
A wine bottle as a thank you.
Can't wait for next year. A hard days work has rarely felt so good!
